Gwyneth Paltrow Ditches Her Paleo Diet For Bread And Cheese

Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about becoming “a little bit sick” of her paleo diet. After years of being “hardcore macrobiotic,” she has revealed that she has ditched the diet in favour of worldwide favourites: bread and cheese.

Paltrow spoke on her Goop Podcast about her obsession “with eating very, very healthily,” trying to stick to “lots of fish, vegetables, rice, no dairy [and] no sugar.”

She has reflected on the “interesting chapter” after she and her husband, Brad Falchuk, have been Paleo for the last few years.

“[I am] just so amazed that we had this power in our hands that if we treated ourselves well and hydrated and ate whole foods, we could just feel so much better. I still feel that way to this day.”

The Oscar winner stated that the long-term experience with high inflammation was a significant factor when deciding her diet.

“I have been working to really focus on foods that aren’t inflammatory, [and] it’s been working really well.”

Her “starvation diet”, as labelled by Meghan McCain, consisted of intermittent fasting, bone broth for lunch and paleo-style dinners.

This was said to be due to her issues with inflammation.

The Emmy winner also clarified online that his diet is not “meant to be advice for anyone else” and is “based on my medical results and extensive testing I’ve done over time.”

The 52-year-old confirmed that she wasn’t paleo “all day every day.”

“I eat full meals. I also have days where I eat whatever I want, French fries or whatever. My baseline has been to try to eat healthy and try to eat foods that really calm the system down.”
