'They Left Me With The Devil': Cyrell Paule And Eden Dally Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia 2024

The reality star power couple never back down from a confrontation... unless it's with an 'evil' llama.

Kicking off the third leg of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, teams arrived in northwest Argentina, travelling the Inca Trail. Battling brick moulding, hiking mountains, and wrangling llamas really put our celebs to their limits, but sadly for Cyrell and Eden, it was their time to farewell the race.

"The experience was great," Cyrell told 10 Play, "we had so much fun [but were] disappointed obviously that we didn't make it until the end. That frickin' llama just wanted to kill me," she laughed.

At the beginning of the race, the pair admitted to sizing up the other teams and quickly realised that the competition was going to be a lot tougher than they first thought.

"We knew we had a challenge there," Cyrell continued, "Some we were like, 'Nah we got them easy, we got them covered', but they ended up beating us! Never underestimate your opponents."

"Or judge a book by its cover," Eden agreed.

Though the partners had checked in at the pit stop at the back of the pack, they had hoped that the third leg would be their chance to climb up the ranks and even potentially get in the top three teams.

That optimism was only amplified when Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley made a wrong turn on the way to the first challenge.

"At one stage we were doing really well," Eden said, "there were times we were ahead of other teams but our direction was terrible. If we had got that down pat I think we would have done better."

The first challenge saw teams have to make 18 adobe bricks out of mud, water and straw. Exhausted from the surprisingly physical challenge, Cyrell and Eden then chose a hike up a mountain as their Detour challenge. Battling heat, exhaustion, and altitude, the duo were pushed to breaking point.

"I don't even get out of bed before 1 pm," Cyrell laughed. "It was a mission for me already."

"I was saying some people might need a walking stick to get up that hill, and then I ended up hallucinating and I almost fainted," Eden added with a laugh. "We regretted our decisions that day."

"In the end, Eden needed the walking stick," Cyrell jumped in.

"I was wrecked," he agreed.

But things really fell apart when Cyrell put her hand up to do the road block, a challenge only one member of the team could complete, which required her to dress a llama and take it on its daily walk. Earlier in the race Cyrell had already admitted she wasn't the biggest fan of animals, and she was about to meet her match.

"Most people think a llama is a cute, cuddly creature. I must have gotten an evil llama. At the time I was calling it racist because it did not like me," she laughed.

While she struggled to put a harness over its head, Eden watched on unable to help, encouraging her.

"It was literally smiling at her," he said.

"It wasn't smiling!" Cyrell replied. "Every time I went near its head it tried to bite me, and I'm not going to get bitten by a llama... I heard they also spit at you and the last thing I want is llama saliva on me."

"I've never seen an animal hate someone so much," Eden added, "and then it jumped up and disappeared. I don't think it has been seen since."

Unable to jump in and take over, Eden admitted it was frustrating to feel like he couldn't help his partner. "I'm alright with animals and I really wanted to jump in but I knew, at the end of the day, she was going to do it.

"Cyrell surprised me in the second leg with how fast she ran, we might see her in the Olympics in LA," he added.

"I probably wouldn't wake up in time," she joked.

"We had heard from other people that the llamas were tough, but this llama was on pure hatred," Eden added. "It heard the rumours Cyrell didn't like animals and really went for it."

"Also, the other teams were ahead of us so they could select their llamas," Cyrell explained. "I had no choice. I think the llama's name was Taitan... but he was satan to me. They left me with the devil!"

After Taitan voted to "leave" the MAFS star, Cyrell picked a much more demure llama who was willing to work with her, and the pair were able to move on and find Beau at the pit stop.

Unfortunately, they were the last team to check-in, and their time in the race came to an end.

"My heart just dropped," Cyrell admitted. "We knew that we had more to give but I think the other teams were just a lot more physically strong than us. Maybe even mentally, we're not going to deny it," she laughed. "But it broke our hearts, we really wanted to win this for our charity."

"I was devastated," Eden added. "I felt sick afterwards, we really tried. We gave it a go and we kept coming second last, second last, then we came last. We were gutted. We really wanted to win for our charity and wanted them to get that money. We were devastated."

Cyrell and Eden were competing on behalf of Bravehearts, an organisation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.

“When we heard their stories and what that amazing charity does for these kids, we really wanted to make a statement for them and hopefully contribute some help by winning that prize money," Eden said.

"We really wanted to win this for our charity but, at the same time, it was great to raise awareness for them and for people to know that there is help out there," Cyrell added.
