Crackdown On Surge Pricing And Subscription Cancellation Difficulties

The federal government intends to ban what it's dubbed 'dodgy' trading practices, like dynamic ticket pricing.

It will also look to outlaw hidden fees and subscription traps, which make cancellation difficult.

The measures are being pitched by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as a form of cost-of-living relief.

“What we want to make sure is that there's transparency and that these unfair practices and dodgy deals are outlawed,” he said.

“It’s time the law caught up with the practice that’s going on.”
