As both the brains and the bakes behind successful online business, Sweet Bakes, Alisha Henderson combines all the right ingredients. A creative caker, business maven and chief hype girl all rolled into one, Alisha forms part of the Australian pastry scene’s exciting new guard. 

Alisha was studying a journalism degree and working as a professional cheerleader when she fell into the wonderful world of cakes aged 19, after sharing her baked creations online and instantly setting imaginations alight.  

With a philosophy deeply rooted in fun, Alisha lives life with total joy, expressing her creativity through the most joyful food on the planet…CAKE! Completely self-taught in the kitchen, Alisha is inspired by the likes of Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi and has perfected her craft over the years with way too many cakes to mention. 

Launched in 2013, Sweet Bakes showcases Alisha’s range of deliciously delightful, bright and colourful signature cakes and creative flavours, catering to every celebration. Alisha’s Cake Mail Club, born during the pandemic to brighten people’s days, lives on today with a monthly cake-tasting delivery of eight unique flavours shipped to your door Australia-wide: the ultimate good mail day. 

With boundless energy and creativity to match, Alisha also counts published children’s author and illustrator amongst her credits, through her adorable Storybook Sweets series. In addition, she regularly partners with her favourite brands to create content which brings inspiring ideas and fun flavours to life.  

In 2023 Alisha co-founded the Co.Bake Space alongside her baking partner in crime, Miss Trixie Drinks Tea, aka Alice Bennett. Both businesses bake from the commercial kitchen situated in Melbourne’s Richmond and the front studio is now a premium pop-up, event and activation space, where the pair also run workshops and highly anticipated bake sales.  

With her palpable joie de vivre, Alisha hopes to push herself to new heights within the Dessert Masters competition setting, exploring new techniques and bursting through boundaries. Her mission to ‘edu-cake’ bakers everywhere will be on show, and she is out to prove that cake is more than worthy of a seat at the Dessert Masters dining table.
