Details

Polling stations in the battleground state of Georgia have received bomb threats, which authorities have assured are not credible threats, and are of Russian origin. The threats, which were also directed towards Michigan and Wisconsin, appeared to have originated from Russian email domains, according to the FBI. At least two dozen threats were received in Georgia, temporarily closing two polling sites for around 30 minutes. Russia is yet to comment on the threats, and confirm the claims.

Philadelphia Officials Refute Trump 'Cheating' Claims | 10 News First

Officials have refuted Donald Trump's claims there's been voter fraud in Philadelphia after the former president alleged there's been "massive cheating" in the city. City Commissioners Omar Sabir and Seth Bluestein briefly spoke to reporters on Tuesday (local time) saying that if there were any formal allegations submitted, they'd look into it, but so far Donald Trump's post on Truth Social has born no specifics. "There is no cheating, there is no smoke to it," Sabir said, "I mean, this playbook has been played since 2020." Pennsylvania remains a key battleground state for the 2024 election.

Israelis Protest Netanyahu, Defence Minister Dismissed | 10 New First

Protesters have gathered in their hundreds to block a Tel Aviv highway in protest of the dismissal of Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he and Gallant have "repeatedly been at odds" over the war in Gaza, triggering a "crisis in trust" between the two leaders. A point of contention was Netanyahu's focus on continued military pressure on Hamas, while Gallant has said that Israel's military force has created the necessary conditions for a temporary diplomatic deal that could bringing Hamas hostages home. Foreign Affairs Minister Israel Katz will serve as Gallant's replacement.

Man Arrested For Bringing Flare Gun To US Capitol | 10 News First

A man carrying a lighter and a flare gun has been arrested by U.S. Capitol Police while he was being screened by security at the Capitol Visitor Centre. Police said in a press conference on Tuesday, November 5, that the man had doused his clothing in gasoline, and his motives remain unclear. All public tours of the Capitol have been cancelled for the rest of the day as authorities investigate. Police are on high alert around the White House for Election Day after a mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol four years ago on Jan 6.

Deadly Volcano Erupts In Indonesia | 10 News First

A series of volcanic eruptions have killed at least 10 people in Indonesia. Mount Lewotobi erupted just after midnight on Monday, sending ash 2 kilometres into the air. Residents described fiery lava and rocks landing in villages up to four kilometres from the crater. The local government has declared a state of emergency for the next 58 days, with locals warned to stay at least three kilometres away from the volcano.
