The English actor spoke to Variety about his upcoming film ‘Queer’ alongside co-star Drew Starkey.
The actors were required to write their answers down on a whiteboard to respond to the reporter’s questions.
When asked who he would like to see take over the 007 franchise, the 56-year-old actor refused to name someone.
“I don’t care,” Craig said.
“I’m not writing, I’m doodling.”
Craig was then asked how many films he had starred in as the British secret agent, replying, “Are you asking me that? I have to write the answer? I’m going to get it wrong.”
Starkey then joked, “Too many.”
“Too many. Exactly,” Craig responded.
Craig debuted as 007 in 2006’s ‘Casino Royale’ after Pierce Brosnan’s last film as the iconic spy, 2002’s ‘Die Another Day.’
Craig went on to star in 2008’s ‘Quantum of Solace’, 2012’s ‘Skyfall’, 2015’s ‘Spectre’ and 2021’s ‘No Time to Die.’
There has been speculation surrounding who will play James Bond in future films, including Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Tom Hardy, Theo James, and Paul Mescal.
